day-49-papua-new-guineaAccording to section 210 of the Papua New Guinea Penal Code, homosexuality in Papua New Guinea is illegal, with a punishment of up to 14 years imprisonment for anyone who is found to be guilty of committing same-sex sexual activity. People who identify as LGBTQ additionally face discrimination against their sexuality, which in some cases has prevented LGBTQ people from finding a job.
