It’s day 10 of Michael’s ‘79 days’ abstinence challenge, which represents the discrimination that LGBTQ people face in Brunei. Chapter 22 of the Penal Code of Brunei states that homosexuality is illegal and is punished with imprisonment. In 2014, Brunei adopted a new Penal Code provision where individuals convicted of same-sex acts could face the punishment of death by stoning.
