June is LGBT Pride month, in memory of the Stonewall riots which happened at the end of June in 1969.
This Pride month, we are celebrating and fundraising to support our work with CAKE and we would love it if you joined us.
There are two ways to get involved.
- Bake cakes, cookies or sweet treats and hold a bake sale at home, school or work to raise funds for Breakout. Take a photo of your bake and send it to us either on our facebook page or by emailing it to enquiries@breakoutyouth.org.uk The best looking cake will win and the winner will be announced online on the 1st July
- If you’re at The Edge in Southampton any weekend in June, look out for cakes and cookies baked by the members of our youth groups. We suggest a donation of £1 per treat.
Every single penny raised by Pride bakes will be used to support our work with young people aged 13 – 21 in Hampshire who identify as LGBTQ. Young people tell us that the groups we run really help them, ‘it’s the only youth group where everyone isn’t straight’, and we know our work makes a difference when young people are feeling lost and isolated. help us help them and have a great time doing it!
We look forward to seeing your photos.
