Day 12 – Cameroon

Posted in: General News

According to section 347 of the Cameroon Penal Code, homosexuality in Cameroon is illegal, with a punishment of 5 years imprisonment and a fine of 20,000 to 200,000 francs. In addition, people who identify at LGBTQ are often condemned for their sexuality as Cameroon is a conservative society where homosexuality is frowned upon.

Michael is abstaining from meat, fish and sugary treats for 79 days to raise awareness of the lack of LGBTQ rights in countries like Cameroon where it is illegal to be homosexual. If you would like to support Michael in his ‘79 days’ challenge, click here.
