According to a 2013 Pew Research Centre survey, 86% of people in Malaysia stated that homosexuality should not be accepted within their society.

Homosexuality is classified as illegal in Malaysia, with a penalty of up to 20 years imprisonment for anyone who is found guilty of same-sex sexual activity.
